Privacy And Data

SunnySips Privacy Policy

Location

SunnySips uses your location only when you grant location access. Location is used to center the map, estimate nearby venues, and help sort places by distance. You can use SunnySips without granting location access by browsing Copenhagen areas manually.

SunnySips does not require an account, and the app does not intentionally send your precise device location to SunnySips servers as a user profile. The app requests sun and weather payloads for Copenhagen areas and venue IDs, not for a named user account.

On-Device App Data

Favorites, settings, onboarding state, and interaction counters are stored on your device. These local counters help the app show simple partner and venue-intent summaries inside the app. SunnySips does not sell this data and does not use advertising trackers.

Anonymous Usage Analytics

SunnySips may send limited first-party analytics events to SunnySips servers to understand app usage and improve the product. These events can include an anonymous app install identifier, app version, session starts, screen opens, venue-detail opens, favorites, shares, and directions taps.

These analytics are used to estimate aggregate metrics such as active installs, sessions, top screens, and commonly opened venues. SunnySips does not use third-party ad SDKs or cross-app tracking for this analytics flow.

Community Seating Feedback

If you choose to improve seating accuracy, SunnySips may send a voluntary correction to SunnySips servers. A correction can include the venue ID, tapped seating coordinates, selected seating tags, optional note text, app version, build number, a pseudonymous install identifier, and model context such as the current seating geometry source and confidence.

If you choose the one-time nearby check, the app may include whether the check was nearby, a distance bucket, and horizontal accuracy. SunnySips does not store your precise device location for this feedback flow. Raw feedback is kept as pending review evidence for up to 180 days. Only reviewed, non-user-identifying seating geometry corrections may later become part of the runtime data used for sun scoring.

Server Requests

The app contacts SunnySips services to fetch venue rankings, weather-aware sun outlooks, and recommendation windows. Recommendation requests can include the venue IDs you saved so the server can calculate return windows. Like most internet services, server infrastructure may process operational request metadata such as IP address, request time, requested URL, response status, and diagnostics needed to keep the service reliable and secure.

Third-Party Services

SunnySips uses Apple Maps and public map/weather data sources to provide the app experience. Venue details may be requested from OpenStreetMap-related services. Venue logos may be loaded from third-party logo or favicon services when a known venue domain is available.

Data Sources And Attribution

SunnySips uses public and platform data sources, including Apple Maps, OpenStreetMap, DMI, MET Norway, and Open-Meteo. OpenStreetMap data is available under the Open Database License. DMI and MET Norway weather data are used under Creative Commons attribution terms. Provider names are included for attribution and do not imply endorsement of SunnySips.

Retention And Deletion

Local app data can be removed by deleting the app from your device. For privacy questions or deletion requests involving server-side operational data or seating feedback, contact hello@sunnysips.app.
